Where did…

all the 1-yr-olds come from? Seems like last fall I had so many newborns to photograph and now it’s first birthday babes. It’s crazy how it comes in spurts??
This little girl was perfect. She had so many smiles to share and not a single fuss.

A Serious Girl

Here’s one of my favorite little girlies that I’ve been photographing since birth. She has the bluest eyes (I did not do anything to them in these pics) and is quite the deep thinker. She was mostly doing her own thing and sometimes those are my favorite types of pictures.

Little Mr. Handsome…

came back for some 4-month pictures. He was the easiest newborn that I’ve ever worked with and is still the same. He hadn’t had a nap and it was lunchtime and he let us sit him up, dress him, and do his hair (no really, his aunt was there as his official hair person).

Isn’t he sooo adorable?

and look at his gorgeous mom.

Wind, wind go away…

We had some major wind issues for this photo shoot. Gusts were around 30mph and were constant. It was also a lot colder than it seemed like it would be. The sun was out full force but it was really cool. The kids were such troopers the entire time and the littlest one was working without a nap. I was really impressed. He did finally give it up towards the end but I don’t blame him one bit:)

One Year Old Doll

As child #1 went back to school today after being sick for a week, child #3 was home running a fever and generally feeling bad. For anyone that knows me they know that I don’t stay home for any long amount of time. I’m always out and about, running the road as my mom says. So staying in for any lengthy amount of time is hard. As I pleaded with Drew to rest and take a nap today some very clear thoughts went through my mind. Why is a nap so devastating to you as a little person when now it’s one of the best treats ever? So I thought these things:
1. I wish someone would make me take a nap
2. I wish someone would send me to my room for a time out…alone
3. I wish I could be pushed around in a stroller when at Sea World
4. I wish that someone would cook for me
5. And my biggest wish of all is that I could remember back to the time when all of these things did happen for me!

Isn’t this little doll adorable? She was all smiles when I got there and had the biggest, brightest blue eyes. I loved all of her clothes, too! It happened that it was a beautiful day so she was able to wear a little sundress.

Super Fun Family

I know I’ve probably been living under a rock (and my husband swears he told me about these) but I just found out about these cool car stickers that you can purchase to leave on other people’s cars. Here’s just one example:

There’s many wording variations (I’m sure you can imagine). Such as “You park like an ***hole”. This is one of those inventions that I can’t believe I didn’t come up with it first. I’ve needed one of these at least 88 times just in the past week. Anyone have these, or use these yet?? Please share!

Onto the sneak peek. I had a BLAST working with this family. The area that they live in is beautiful and it was very easy to find good locations! And the best thing about the session is how much we laughed. They were so easy to work with and you could see how they truly enjoyed each other. Hope you enjoy guys!!

Totally, naturally into each other. I loved all of these:)

I love the look…

of the sun shining on her gorgeous red hair. We did pictures out in the field and then next month we’re going to do some more senior pictures at the beach. That should be fun!

Get this: Four out of five in our family had the flu shot. I just got back from the pediatrician and the one person (Mackenzie) that didn’t get her flu shot was diagnosed with the flu:( Such a bummer. She’s been home all week and will probably stay home at least the rest of this week. At least this forces me to stay home and get some work done. Yeah, right:)

When taking pictures in the…

little hut at the Japanese Gardens I now know to always look in there first. Every time that I’ve been to the Japanese Gardens you have to wait to take pictures with the hut. There’s always lovebirds hanging out or families that have made it their little picnic spot. So when I saw that it was open at the moment I said that we should go take advantage. First I had the family do some shots at the opening and then I asked them to peek out the side from the inside. I think they were trying to give me some hints that something was off but I was missing them. Finally, they mentioned something to the effect that these shots weren’t really working…I was still clueless. They came out and told me that there was a homeless man in the corner inside. It was pretty funny because I was in front of it, to the left of it, to the right of it, but from every angle I had no idea someone was in there. You had to actually go in…which was what I had them do. Of course he was harmless but it felt like we were invading his little shut-eye space. So needless to say we moved on.

These girls adore their parents.

I love…

that my senior season is starting. This beautiful senior has the most gorgeous eyes and lashes that are real honest-to-goodness inches long! I commented on them and told her that I bet she must hear comments about her lashes a lot and she said that yes, that was the 3rd comment just that day. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek:)

How cute are they?

and with mom and little sister…

Family Shoot

The weather in Texas is crazy…for this photo shoot we settled on a time. Then because of the weather we had a wait-and-see approach…and then let’s wait an hour…No, no let’s do it the next morning instead. And then once again we waited an hour…and finally we decided “what the heck” let’s just get this done — so we did. The ground was wet and it was a little chilly but overall not anything we weren’t able to work around. Their 4-month-old was adorable. She was so good the entire time. I was so happy to see some color blooming at our location, too.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. I told my husband that all I really wanted was for him to vacuum our floors and tape the walls so I could paint. I hate that part!

Our nosy little begging friend.
