10 on almost Tuesday

1. I’m having a hard time jumping back into work after having some much-needed time to slow down. Can you tell? I know the blog has been the first to be neglected.
2. I picked up the kids from school last week and Drew tells me that they had learned about the letter “W” that day. So, I ask him what words start with w. His answer, “D”. What? I was puzzled with this answer so I asked again. No, what words start with w? His answer again is “D”. AND then it dawned on me. He thought that I was asking what letter does “W” start with. And sure enough if you spelled out dub-a-you it would start with a “D”.
3. So, then I realize that I had never thought about spelling out a letter. And I went through the alphabet to see if I could spell out any other letters:) I’ll bet Drew could tell me.
4. I’ve spent the last several days doing some online photography learning. There is always so much more to learn…it’s never-ending!!
5. Even though I’ve had a hard time making myself work I have actually been working on my new website….THAT I PURCHASED DECEMBER 2009.
6. Pathetic, right?
7. Followed this blog from another photographer’s blog and am so glad I did. She makes me want to step outside of my comfort zone and have bigger dreams and go for them! Very inspiring read
8. We do a lot of things with several families that live on our street. We mostly have parties in our cul-de-sac but sometimes the women have been known to have girls night out without the men. Sometimes there is an eencie, weencie tiny bit of complaining from the men so we always encourage that they too have a guys night out. I think the women have had 4 or 5 GNO while the men haven’t done any. So, this past Saturday the men decide to go eat New York style pizza and to a hockey game. The women and kids hang out together while they’re gone. One of the husbands texts around 10:00 that they are headed back. After they’re not back 45 minutes later we figure they must have found somewhere else to go and we find out that they stopped at a local bar/hangout that we’ll just kindly say “looks a little rough”. We joked that they were probably exhausted but there was no way that on their first ever GNO that they would come home at a measly 10 o’clock on a Saturday night. We also joked that even though they’ve ventured into a GNO that there is no way they’ll ever catch up to us on the number of outings because 1) we’re women and we do that sort of thing to recharge and have a bit of sanity and 2) they don’t have a good organizer in the group that will get them going out regularly. So, they stay at this hangout for a couple of hours and whilst there one of them who after a few, ahem, drinks always brings out his mad dancing skills. He decides to do a little break dancing and a woman that walks out of the bathroom sees him and decides that she has a little break dancing in her. They actually have a break dancing duel…right then and there in a walkway of a rather “rough” establishment. And that’s when I decided that their GNO was a success.
9. Drew loves to try and break dance. Now that our neighbor friend has dueled a woman at a bar I’ll see if he wants to duel a 5-year old:)
10. And now I’m really craving some New York style pizza.
