Pink or Blue?

I am always impressed when couples that are expecting a baby have the patience and willpower to wait until the baby is born to find out if it’s a boy or girl! I never could! I could barely wait until the “big” ultrasound so that I could find out. So, these guys are getting close to finding out who has it right. Mom-to-be says “boy” and dad-to-be says “girl”.

I’m also impressed that they were such troopers during this shoot because there were several factors working against us. They really wanted some pictures with animals in the zoo. We were going to meet earlier than I normally do so that we would have time in there. They were coming from a different direction and the freeway they were traveling came to a stop with terrible traffic! I went ahead and got the zoo tickets before they stopped selling them but when they got there the zoo had already put their gates down (they weren’t closed but they don’t sell tickets or let anyone in after 6:00). We were able to talk to someone and we got in. We headed to the elephants and where the elephants were standing the lighting wasn’t too good, there were poles, feeders, a group of people and a fence. We took a few shots and then we decided to go to the giraffes. When we finally got to the giraffes they were nowhere to be found because THEY HAD ALL GONE INSIDE! By this time the zoo was announcing that everyone needed to head to the exit. OMG, what next?!! Well, we started to walk to the vehicles to exchange some clothes and it started to rain. It was a light rain at first but then it started POURING! We got some umbrellas and moved to a covered area to take some more pictures. The rain didn’t last long but afterwards it was so muggy and hot. We joked that the next time they needed a maternity shoot we would fly to Colorado in the winter and take pictures in the snow!

Thanks for hanging in there guys! You two were adorable together and I know you’ll be amazing parents:)

We had to take some pictures by these poles because Lindsay(the mom-to-be) actually designed them for the zoo.
