We had to start today off by making the decision to take our oldest animal (our cat, Hammer) to be put to sleep. She was almost 18 and getting VERY skinny, weak, and senile(is this possible for a cat?). So started the morning with letting the kids know and having them say their goodbyes was heartbreaking. And even though you KNOW in your heart you’re doing the humane thing, wow, that was hard! My oldest went to school teary-eyed (wish I could have let her stay home) but my middle child looked at it in a totally different light. The first words out of her mouth were, “Now we can get a neeeewwww cat!” Then the older one yelled, “That’s so mean!” Oh, the drama around here.
Then later in the day I had the itch to shoot some photos. The lighting was perfect but my little man was just too busy for me. I moved on to my 5-year-old. She is home from school because she had a fever yesterday. Totally fine today, but gotta follow that 24-hour rule! Not only was she too busy for me, but she wouldn’t even go for a bribe. AT ALL. She’s so stubborn. Just like me. Which I have a feeling is going to cause some major problems when she’s a teen. Total paybacks I know. So I had to settle on playing with some older pics of my little man, back when he wasn’t too mobile.
