You know that shoot of my kids I mentioned…

Not my favorite, but I do like that it shows how long her hair has gotten.

Well, I did try. Just not very successful at it. I hit Cassidy up first, bribing her with ice cream. She was all over that…until I asked her to wear some new boot-shoe thingies. She loved them, but didn’t want or like the feel of her jeans tucked into them. (She’s ultra aware of how every little piece of clothing feels). And of course the jeans had to be tucked in to show the shoes. I asked her, begged her, pleaded with her to just wear them like that for a few shots. She was not in agreement and so I told her to just forget the ice cream and the pictures (hey, I was trying reverse psychology). Next, I moved on to Drew. He heard the words ice cream and was ready to do anything mom asked. Only, a 2.5 year old doesn’t really know how to pose. Meanwhile, Cassidy slithered out the door to where we were and jumped into the action (that reverse psychology really works)! I got a few, but Cassidy’s smiles are so forced these days. Even the old tricks for getting a genuine smile haven’t been working anymore. So, I’ll have to try again soon.

Miss Z

Have you ever known those people that look really good when they’re serious? Well, that’s what I think of when I take pictures of “Z”. She looks great smiling, but I also really like the pictures where she has a serious look and just connects with the camera.

I’ve been noticing that I’m falling down on taking pics of my own kiddos. Today is really pretty so I think I’ll try and get some new pics. Hopefully I’ll have some to post soon. (Keep your fingers crossed for me that they cooperate)!

Smiles Galore

The last time I photographed Miss “S” she was a bit fussy. This time she was nothing but smiles. So cute and fun to work with!! And I always love her fashionista clothes.

Update on the website: it’s about 70% done. YEAH!

Another gorgeous mom-to-be

It was so apparent that this couple is so in love and excited for the new baby. I had fun taking these, and I really hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Happy NEW YEAR!

It was definitely a total-hectic chaotic down-to-the-minute countdown to Christmas. Between shoots, orders, Christmas shopping, and some strange illnesses that my son came across my December just flew by. In mid-December my 2.5 year old woke up one morning and crawled to me. I thought he was playing. When we would try and stand him up he wouldn’t put any weight on his legs. We saw a Dr. that thought it was from a virus. This went on for 4-5 days. He had blood tests, x-rays, and several exams. He was frustrated, we were frustrated (and a little scared) but finally he slowly started walking on his legs again. Both Dr.’s that we saw agreed that they thought it was a result of a virus that he had probably had weeks before and we never even knew about it. Have you heard of such a thing? I’ve come across a couple of people that have heard of this. Right after he got over the mysterious leg illness he came down with pneumonia. He had fever for days (even getting up to 105.3 one night)And as much as I *know* that it can get that high and not cause permanent damage, it sure freaks a mother out! And now … he has an ear infection. His first. We have been in the Dr.’s office so much lately between all the kiddos that I feel that one of the examing rooms should just be labeled as our personal room. Anyone else ever feel that way? Not to mention that I’ve been hanging on to some flu-like virus.

We did have a great Christmas. The kids scored the Wii from their grandparents so there’s been a lot of competition going on around here lately. Not sure if I’ll be able to do the GuitarHero thing or not. I think I’ll practice when no ones home and then bust out the moves one night. HaHa!

We also had one of my very best friends and her family visit last week. We had a wonderful time — just not enough time. Six kiddos in the house that hadn’t seen each other in a year. SO much fun catching up. Although we didn’t ever get around to the photoshoots of each other’s families that we had planned.

As far as photography goes, I’m so excited about 2008. I have a new website coming (my Christmas gift)! We’ll be working on it over the next month or so and I’ll let you know when it’s live. I LOVE it because it’s so fun and colorful. Exactly what I want to convey.

Thanks to all my friends and clients that have kept up with this blog. I hope you’ll keep stopping by. AND LEAVE me some comments people!! I’ll leave you with a couple of pics I never shared of Elvis and his girl on Halloween.

Big Brown Eyes

We got more serious gazes from her than we did smiles, but I still think she looks adorable…serious or not.

The really cool thing about this photoshoot was that this was a friend that I went to school with and had not seen in at least a decade. We were able to take pictures of her family and her adorable little girl and get caught up. I love her daughter’s big brown eyes. They just look like they’re lit up to me in these pics. It was great seeing you, chatting, and I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

My newborn model has gotten big

Here he is as a newborn. Hasn’t he gotten that “little boy” look now?

This little guy is on my website and business card as a newborn…Wow, has he gotten big. And so handsome. I had a hard time narrowing these down, but had to include the profile pic for you Russell. Hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek!

Gorgeous Mom-To-Be

We had so much fun with these. She was game for any and everything. I kept telling her that these were going to look like modeling shots and not maternity shots…she looks so great and tiny. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Fun Family Shoot

I just loved the way this family was coordinated clothing-wise. I usually like to throw in some B&W pics, but I’m having a really hard time taking the color away from these. I’ll include one just for kicks. This family looked so amazing for their pictures and were still game for getting down on the ground. I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek.

I’m loving the newborns

Isn’t she so sweet sucking on her fingers?!

I love getting that newborn yawn.

I’ve had quite a few newborns lately and I’m LOVING it. Anyone that knows me knows that I just LOVE the newborn stage. They are just soooo sweet and you could stare at them and be simply amazed at little movements and sounds they make. And this is before they become little (and this is in the words of my friend, Amy) pit vipers that wake up from naps spitting nails. (Amy comes up with the funniest sayings. I’ll have to do a blog entry just with those. She cracks me up!) I’m also realizing after all of these newborn shoots that I like to crop in close and convert to b&w for newborn pictures for some reason. I guess it highlights all those sweet little baby parts better.

Well, you may recognize this couple from a recent maternity shoot. Now they have a sweet little girl added to their family. She was so sleepy but did not want to give it up for the photoshoot. But I think we got some good pics. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek S & K.
