Give me a field

anyday! I have just totally found my “thing”. I still love to do high key studio shots, but truly when I have a client that wants to do outdoor shots (especially in my field. Ok, it’s not really MINE, but I feel like it is, hee hee) I am SOOOOO excited. This most recent shoot was not only in my field outdoors with a gorgeous sunset, but their mom totally had my same vision as far as clothing, poses, props, etc…. That’s when it really gets fun! She was worried that her girls wouldn’t like the tall grass and possible bugs, but they ran and played and had a blast. Just like it should be for photos — total fun. I’m gonna post some of the oldest daughter today.

On another note, having had one of my best friends pass away at 26 from cancer has really made me aware of the possibilities of this terrible disease at young ages. I can’t remember how but I was directed to this blog (www.jenniferireland.blogs.com) and spent a whole afternoon reading her story. It really had an impact on me and I’ve kept up with the blog ever since. While reading it yesterday her husband asked for thoughts and prayers for another young mother that has been diagnosed with the same type of cancer. I then visited her blog and was once again wowed by the strength and openness of someone who is living life with cancer. It’s always a reminder for me to stop and appreciate the little things, to quit complaining about getting older (a big one!), and know that it can happen to anyone at any time (listen to your body). So, if you have a chance take a look and be inspired by these women and their strength and courage. (www.shawndraturner.blogspot.com) And I know that Shawndra and her family would appreciate your prayers.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. P.S. I’ll figure out how to put the actual links in next time. I thought I knew how but it’s not working.

My favorite so far…

Just wanted to share my favorite picture so far while I’m proofing this session. Three adorable girly-girls. We had a blast. There’ll be lots more to share soon.:)

It’s only been 6 months

since I took the tutu pics of Cass, but she looks SO much older to me. Her baby teeth have started to loosen and come out and it’s making her look like she’s in that next stage. KWIM?? Anyway, here’s some favs from our 5-year-old photoshoot and then some from last week to compare from. At least in the ones from last week she was dressed as a flying princess (she’s not too old for that yet, I guess).

Just a cool pic

Thanks to my good friend, Debra(thanks girl haha), my daughters now know what Webkinz are and are fast driving me CRAZY about them. Here’s Cass with her favorite uncle, Travis, and her very 1st Webkinz (that she named Beachey??). Thought this looked kind of cool.

A Very Happy Day

Here’s a couple peeks from this past Saturday. 7/7/07-Yup, my best friend in the whole world got married. I can’t get over how happy she looked. She was literally glowing!! It was set to be an outdoor wedding but the rain washed us all into a huge tent that they had for the reception. It turned out so beautiful. I think the rain even made it more romantic. I was in the wedding so didn’t get to take nearly the amount of pictures I would have liked, but did get a few. Congratulations Ang and Doug, love you guys!

My 4th of July post

I did another advertisement photoshoot for a resale shop that was a back-to-school and 4th of July theme. The sun was still bright but these girls were so great and easy to work with.

Just had to try this…

Saw one of these on Indie-Art’s blog and just had to give it a try. I just LOVE the way the pics look together. These are mostly pictures from the last few weeks with a few others thrown in.

And the smaller mosaic is engagement pics of BFF and her fiance.

Mr. D and my nemesis, Ms. K!

These 2 are so cute together. With a couple of new outfits and some flowing beige-y grass we knew we just had to get some pics. Usually Ms. K is just impossible to get on camera(aka, my nemesis), but we managed to get a few smiley pics of her this time.

Silly boy

Drew is obsessed with this bubble machine. And thanks to his buddy, Kate, he’s learned to try and eat the bubbles as they flow out.

And even though he got bubbles all in his mouth, he turned and gave me a huge I’m-so-proud-of-myself smile.

FINALLY!

Sorry there’s so many. It’s just really hard to narrow them down! The first 3 are some very favs.

I’ve been waiting to share Crystal’s bridal pics for weeks now, but didn’t want to spoil her look until after the wedding. Well, it was this past weekend and was absolutely gorgeous! She had so many compliments, even from strangers that could view the terrace wedding from their hotel room windows. Here’s some of our favorites!
