Not Just a Little Rain

I was super excited to do this newborn session. One, I’ve done all three kiddos when they were brand new and two, they wanted to do them outdoors at their new home. The great thing about this is they have acreage, wild flowers, wooden fences and a barn. The morning of the shoot it drizzled just a little. I checked the weather again and there was a 30% chance of rain. Well, with 30% I’ve learned that it usually doesn’t rain. And that’s what I get for thinking;)
It stopped and then started a little again. I called mom. The barn area was covered so even if it did rain we were good. I headed over and we did the newborn shoot. But let me tell you…it rained the ENTIRE time…and most of that was torrential rain. Like so bad that I’m pretty sure it helped little Mr. J sleep because it was so loud and constant. There were rain puddles everywhere and big (middle) sister had a blast playing in them. I was bummed that we didn’t get to take advantage of all the great spots at their new place but I’m really glad that we captured Mr. J while he’s still in the newborn phase.

Mom told me how hard it is to get all of the kids in a picture so I thought we’d give it a quick try. We were probably quite a spectacle if anyone were so lucky to see us. We were using cat food to keep one kiddo in place (their new place came with 3 barn cats and one of them was determined to be in a picture. And she succeeded. Because we needed her to eat and keep eating so no one would move). Mom and grandma were singing and being silly and on top of that we were in mud and rain. Forget about photo composition, forget about getting wet and forget about looking ridiculous because we were going to get a picture of the 3 of them!

Newborn Baby Mr. L

This was a last minute session that I’m so glad worked out. Mr. L was so sweet and so were his parents. Thanks for letting me capture your adorable new baby boy!

A Girls Day Out

Hanging out with lots of girls can be fun! Especially when it’s for a photo shoot. This pretty senior had an entourage of her mom, grandmother, aunt and can’t forget Bella (the dog that you have to look for in the street picture). So all in all there was 6 of us girls and we loaded up and ran around from location to location. I think everyone had fun. Okay, Bella might not have thought that it was all that fun but she sure looked cute for pictures:) Hope y’all enjoy the sneak peek!

Engaged

These 2 are getting married later this year out of town but I was lucky enough to get to do some engagement pictures. We met up and had a great time running around downtown Houston. Congrats you two! And thanks for letting me capture the love that you share:)

Miss C…1st Newborn of 2012

This little cutie patootie was afraid to miss out on anything. She didn’t want to sleep too much but she did the next best thing…awesome eye contact with the camera. She was also pretty amazing at lifting her head and peeking around. Just when I would think she was in a position to settle down and possibly sleep she’d pop her head up to see what was going on. She is just gorgeous guys…thanks for letting me capture that newborn stage of your baby girl!

Something funny happened while I was editing the 3rd picture in this series. You know how when someone yawns when you’re with them and then you yawn? Well, I couldn’t stop yawning the whole time I was working on that picture!

December Sneak Peeks 2011

There are a few more sessions that I’m not finished with yet but this almost gets me caught up for the past year:) December is always so stressful because that is towards the end of the busiest season and I’m trying to wrap up sessions, orders, holiday cards, packaging/mailing and do some personal Christmas things. Luckily, I have some of the most amazing people that I worked with in December and that made it a little easier. One of the sessions was miserably cold, another one it poured down rain. We had to move a couple of sessions around from the weather but it all worked out. THANKS to all of those families that stuck it out during this crazy time!

Check out her zebra shoes!

Hello 2012

It feels like forever since I’ve posted on this blog! Well, I guess it has been quite a while. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do and then I hope to concentrate on a few projects that have been in the “to do” section of my brain for a long, long time. I’ll start off with sharing some pics from November sessions that didn’t get blogged:

Mr. Adorable

One more quick sneak peek of a super adorable little boy who had some awesome clothes. Just look at him working those clothes and looking cool!

Yawwwwnnnn!

I just have to whine a minute. I am soooo tired. I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately and it’s really catching up to me!

Here’s one of my regular families that I’ve done pictures of for several years and I adore them. Their daughters are both gorgeous and their youngest is completely funny and had me cracking up during the session. Thanks for your patience “B” family!

And Miss H with the gorgeous blue eyes. It’s always my goal to get some close up pictures that highlight her amazing eyes.

The “P” Family

Baby J has changed so much since her newborn session. And she’s adorable!! Big gorgeous eyes, a huge smile and she does this cute thing with her mouth & tongue that is in a LOT of the pictures. We had a few obstacles with this session. It ended up being a very overcast, dark day and it started raining while driving to where we were meeting. It did quit raining but then when we got to our initial location there was a function going on that caused lots of traffic and people. We nixed that idea and went somewhere else. The new location ended up working perfectly and we were even able to include their dog in some of the pictures.

Hope you enjoy your peek:)
