These 2 kiddos are from Oklahoma but were in town for this cutie’s birthday party. She is their cousin and I’ll have a sneak peek of her up this week as well:)
Miss M has had a heart issue since she was little but at her recent doctor appointment she got some great news…a clean bill of health! So, her mom wanted to do some pictures that illustrated the trials that she’s had to go through in her short life. She wanted her chest scars to show for some of the pics so we decided that adding some angel wings would be perfect. She and her brother were absolutely amazing during the time I spent with them and I was so impressed at how sweet he was with her.
I really hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I’m so glad that the timing worked out:)
Susan, your peek will be up tomorrow. Sorry! I’m running a day behind:(

How cute is he? With big blue eyes and an easy-going attitude. He was just getting over being sick and hadn’t slept his normal length of time for his nap this day so he was not quite himself but mom said she’d be happy with just 5 good pictures and I’m happy to report….we got em.
Hope you enjoy your little peek:)
Jennifer, your sneak is up next. Some time later today:)

or like a fly on the wall because it would have been so entertaining to watch me, this senior, and her mom attempt to get the stand-in-the-middle-of-the-street-downtown Houston shot. First off, I don’t normally go downtown on a Friday evening because I know that everyone that works down there is trying to get out of downtown to start their weekend. But I forgot that there is also a lot of people that are coming into downtown for sporting events, to eat, for concerts, theater, etc….
And the combination of all of these people coming and going was traffic! And lots of it. We would run into the street and I’d maybe fire off one shot when her mom would yell, “CAR”! and we’d run back to the side. We did this…ah, maybe…5,000 times give or take. LOL! Sometimes I didn’t even get to take a shot. I think one of the taxis would have definitely run us over if we hadn’t moved fast enough. It was fun though:)
Hope you enjoy your peek:)

This session was very similar to a couple other newborn shoots I’ve had lately. These newborns have come with older siblings. And all of them have been really good. Newborn sessions usually take longer than any other type of session and these siblings have to be so patient for such a long time. I can usually get some sibling shots in the beginning, maybe some family shots, possibly some shots of the older siblings but sometimes we have to pull something out of a bag of tricks…or in my case…a drawer of tricks. And this particular drawer has some old cameras, some stuffed animals, a couple of little hand held toys, and a obnoxious yellow rubber chicken. Once kiddos see me open and take something out of the drawer they become very interested in it. I have to be careful though because the biggest trick of all…THE YELLOW RUBBER OBNOXIOUS-SOUNDING CHICKEN…is quite annoying and once it’s out it usually doesn’t go back in. It makes the loudest, most obnoxious noise you’ve ever heard. It works really well at getting the kid’s attention and their smiles. But they also want to hold it (or hug on it as in the picture below) and squeeze it. And squeeze it. And squeeze it. If there are any photographers out there reading this and you have one of these I’m sure you are nodding your head in sympathetic agreement:)
My kids loved the yellow rubber obnoxious chicken when I brought it home. It’s since become off limits for them! The thing will drive you crazy but it’s there…in the drawer of tricks….and I’ll pull it out the next time I have a sibling that needs an extra trick to get that smile:)
Hope you enjoy your peek:)
