Family of Four

I can imagine that we were quite the sight flying around the country club where they are members on 2 golf carts carrying chairs, clothes, buckets, camera bags and anything else we thought we might need. The good thing was that we (the wife and I) unknowingly scheduled this on the day of the Masters Golf Tournament so there were not a lot of golfers out on the course. It was perfect and gorgeous.

Their girls were such troopers…it was getting late and they hadn’t had dinner yet and we kept trying to get just a little more. It’s hard not to when you have such adorable subjects, gorgeous surroundings and perfect evening light. I had a blast and I hope you guys did too. Hope you enjoy your peek:)

A Year Later

I had not seen this little guy since his newborn shoot. He still has the same face with the big gorgeous eyes but he’s now a fast toddler. It was great seeing and working with you guys again! Hope you enjoy your peek:)

A New Baby Boy

I’m so happy for this family. They are head over heels for their new little guy and big sister is so cute with him.

Look, no hands!

Birthday Princess

This girl is an absolute doll! These are her one-year-birthday pictures.
Hope you enjoy them:)

Senior 2010

We almost got her car stuck out in the field. The tires found a couple of spots where they just spun and spun and I thought to myself “Well, I’ve never gotten a client stuck in a field before”. A new adventure. That’s one of the great things about my job….everything changes with each time I work and that’s fun and exciting. Even if it is almost getting their vehicle stuck. Her mom and I were prepared to push though if we had to. Which luckily we didn’t.

Thanks for the fun session Miss A. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek:)

Dream Location in the country

This is my husband’s cousin and her in-laws and when she asked if we were coming to the farm for Easter and would I mind doing pictures for them I jumped at the chance. I was honored that she wanted me to capture them and the location that they chose was phenomenal! I could literally do a photo shoot there every.single.day for an entire year and still love it. There was a barn, ponds, gorgeous trees, limbs across the ground, and gorgeous light. And on the drive over there I spotted hundreds of other great locations. Aaaaahhh, if only it were closer!

I really hope you guys love the sneak peek:)

My dad called this morning and mentioned that there was an old steam engine in Houston parked for the day at a station downtown and mentioned going to see it. I was so-so with the idea of going but knew Drew would love it. It also just so happened that I was driving my father-in-law close to there to pick up a car so it really worked out to go by and see the steam engine. And I actually really enjoyed it. MUCH larger than I expected. There were news stations there and I also noticed that a lot of elder people were there, some of them wearing railroad clothing or memorabilia. It really seems to be a dying thing (especially passenger cars and steam engines) and I was sad that a lot of those people probably have some really fond memories from the railroad. My dad can remember a steam engine that came to Houston in 1976 and said that my grandfather actually woke up in the middle of the night from hearing the steam engine come through Pearland as it left. So today my dad asked them what time they were leaving tomorrow and what route they are taking to leave Houston. Luckily, they are going to come right through Pearland again! It will be the one train that I would be happy to see come through town. They are leaving Houston at 8:00 am and he said to expect it in Pearland from as early as 9:00 to an hour and a half later just depending on how everything goes. Let me know if you spot it!

A Field of Bluebonnets

We did these bluebonnet pics at a pretty big field in Memorial park. If you’re looking for some close by there’s a small patch on the hill at Independence Park and I imagine that the huge yard of bluebonnets is available in Friendswood (haven’t been this year though). If you need more details just shoot me an email.

We went to the benefit that I mentioned in my last post today. The weather turned out pretty chilly and yucky this morning (despite what the weather reports said!) but cleared up mid-afternoon. We had a great time and I hope that it was a huge success!

I’m still running about 5 days behind on proofs and sneak peeks:( I really overbooked myself this past month or so and am having such a hard time finding computer hours! I’m working on it though and hope to dig myself out soon. Chad just went and picked up Chick-fil-a and I had him get me a LARGE Dr. Pepper so that I can fuel up on caffeine and get some work done tonight. And for those friends that know what a Chick-fil-a nut I am I hope that you got a great laugh out of my mention of it here. Yes, that makes 3 times this week. Only 3 times:):)

A Special Event This Weekend

Super easy-going family with a new baby boy. While little brother took a break to eat we were able to snap some pics of his big brother. He was so funny!

If you’re a local blog follower I wanted to mention a benefit that is coming up this Saturday. I know we’ll be there and I hope you’ll think about attending, too. There will be food, games, entertainment, etc….

Seth’s Carnival Benefit

Date: April 10, 2010 starts at noon

Location: “Billy Griffin’s Hall” 4070 Wells Dr
(between Bailey and Keis) Pearland, TX 77584

Goal: To celebrate his life and raise money for medical bills.

Seth Mitchell was 4 years old when he was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He has endured countless lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirations, blood transfusions, and hospital stays.

At the age of 6 his cancer relapsed, and on Janurary 22, 2010 he found out that the cancer invaded his central nervous system. His single mother was told he was facing 52 intense weeks of chemotherapy, but on February 10, 2010 Seth came down with CSV, a viral infection that lowered the amount of oxygen his lungs could process, requiring Seth to be on constant oxygen.

On March 1, 2010 the doctors told Seth his CSV turned into pneumonia.

March 5, 2010 Seth left this earth to be with our maker. May the good Lord bless his beautiful soul. Please continue to pray for his family. “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” (Matt. 5:4)

In honor of his memory, the benefit is still on. We will celebrate his life as we raise money for his family.

The Stupid Old Green Wagon That I Love

Don’t tell Drew to read my title. Because he’s good at copying words that he shouldn’t. This weekend…Easter weekend to be exact…he started singing some new songs that he’s learned. The first went something like this: “If you want to be my lover, you gotta get with my friends”. Gotta love when your 4-year-old starts belting this out around a large group of family. The next song that he decided to mimic was “God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy”. N.I.C.E. I guess I should pay better attention to the songs that the kids are dancing to on their new WII Just Dance game.

Onto the stupid old green wagon that I love. This wagon sat outside of an antique store forever. And every time I would drive by I’d eye it and think that I should stop and buy it but you know that I’ve mentioned that Chad is going to strangle me for bringing home photo stuff. Especially photo stuff that takes up room. I probably eyed this old green wagon for a good 5 or 6 months. Then it disappeared! Darn! Someone bought it. Then a month later I go into this store and there it sits…except that it has a sold sign on it. Oh well, maybe I’ll find another one. And then the next month I go in and it still sits there…sold. And the next month…sold. I figured it must be on layaway. So fast forward to February. I go into the store and it’s still there…torturing me…because by now I really want the stupid thing. I actually had a dream about it and how I’d incorporated it in a session. So I ask the people at the front what the deal was with this wagon. Oh, that wagon. The owner of the wagon decided she didn’t want to sell it after all and was going to use it to sit things in. Sit things in? Um no, I had much bigger plans for this old green wagon. So I decide to leave her a message begging and pleading for the thing. And I never heard from her. So onto March. I go in. I see the wagon. I walk to the front and ask again. They say that they gave her my message but that she’s never seen a green wagon and really wants to keep it. But, one of them will call her and see if she’s changed her mind. They tell her that the crazy, obsessed with her green wagon lady is there and really wants to buy it. And she caves!! Hallelujah!! And I got my wagon. Nevermind that I had to pay $20 more than it originally was:) So, this was the first session where we used it. It was already about dark but I got to use my very own old green rusted-out wagon:):)!

Sorry that I’m so far behind to the people that are waiting on me for something! I didn’t take into account that we’d be gone 3 days for Easter and I’m trying to jump back in and catch up.

I just..

got back in from out of town so if you’re waiting on me for something I promise to get back up and working in the morning:)
