I know, I know…another little one. They are coming out of the woodwork from every which way! At least I’m getting my newborn fix. She was soooo sweet. Mom had seen the bird’s nest idea somewhere before and wanted to recreate it, so we did. Little Miss Berlin however was not loving her little nest. How can you blame her though with the prickly sticks poking at her feet every time she stretched. At least we caught a few before we had to move on. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I’m not sure what was going on, oh say, 8 months ago, 9 months ago, 10 months ago, ahem….But there’s been an explosion of maternity clients and precious newborns lately.

I know I’ve mentioned it before on here, but newborns are one of my faves to take pictures of. On a maternity shoot recently(not this one) we were talking about the newborn pictures and I mentioned that I couldn’t wait until their baby was born because newborns are my favorites. I said, “Well, newborns and seniors.” The husband (who shall remain nameless, but you know who you are! Wink, Wink) started to laugh. So, I tried to explain that I just love the newborn stage and that seniors for the most part just want to look good and are so cooperative. He started to look confused and said “Really? They just want to look good?” and something along the lines of “Do you really get that many seniors that want to come and take pictures?”
At about the same time his wife and I realized that in his mind he was thinking the geriatric type of senior and we all busted out laughing.

Ok, and now that I’ve embarrassed him I’ll embarrass myself. We went out to eat with some friends of ours a couple of weeks ago and during the conversation she asked “Have you ever seen my cousin Vinny?” and I responded with “Lisa, when would I have had the chance to meet your cousin Vinny? I’ve barely met your mom and dad.” By this time the entire table is laughing and I stupidly said “There’s a movie named that, isn’t there?” Ummmm yeah, and that’s what she was referring to. So for those of you who are familiar with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour: Here’s your sign!

Without trying to sound bitter…I never in the heck looked remotely like that when I was pregnant! Not even close. My body chose to “spread” instead of stay it’s normal size with a small swell in the stomach area. Maybe if I had looked like this I would have enjoyed being pregnant better. She is adorable!

This was one of those photo shoots that you just can’t wait to jump on your computer, load the pictures, and see what you got. They were game for anything, had loads of cool ideas, and helped me move furniture when needed:) Thanks guys for your willing and helpful spirit! Hope you enjoy!

On another note, I’m still trying to play catch up. I’m now running about a month behind instead of 6 weeks behind so I’ve made up a little time. Thanks for being so patient with me.

I was looking forward to this photo shoot immensely! It was my first time getting to take pictures of twins and I was in love the instant we began. They were so adorable and it’s amazing how different you can already tell that they are (they even have different skin tones). Funny story: I asked mom when in the pregnancy she found out it was twins and she said from an ultrasound at 9 weeks. The doctor said that it was twins and she responded “You’re kidding, right?” He then said that there are 2 things that he never kids about…STD’s and multiples! Hilarious!! Thank you so much for letting me be the one to document their newness, they are precious. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek:)

I was in awe of this little one. She was a tiny little thing but was packed with power. She was mostly fully awake, holding up her head looking around, trying to inch her way off of blankets, just taking everything in. She was so good for our session. Made me “kind of” want another one:)

After the indoor pictures we went to a field that is sort of in a remote area in town. There’s traffic that comes by but not a lot. Well, the baby, her parents, and I were out in this field when a truck pulled up to where we were. No one recognized the man and when he got out we were all a little nervous. He walked towards us and had his left hand out of sight behind his clothing. I was already thinking about how to react if he were to show us a weapon and then he asked what we were taking pictures of. He saw the baby and said, “Oh, I thought maybe you were out here taking pictures of the Raspberry(actually spelled Rasberry) Ants.” The what?? He went on to ask us if we had heard of them and began telling us about how they get into electronic components and then short them out, etc…. He finally backed away and left and we let out a sigh of relief. We discussed what had happened and decided that for sure he was just a little looney. So after I get home, just for the heck of it, I google Raspberry Ants. What do you know…they do exist. And they were actually discovered and named after a man from our town. I began repeating this story to a few friends and family and they had all heard of these ants already and couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard of them. My neighbor who is from Connecticut said that’s she has had relatives call her and ask her if she has had any problems with these ants. Ok, so people in Connecticut have heard of them and I haven’t. And now I’m thinking…”Hmmmm, maybe that’s what is wrong with our computer…Raspberry Ants.”
