My computer died Friday. Which was good and bad. The good was that I actually was not able to get on it and spend hours and hours away from my family. This forced me to do some other things that I’ve been meaning to do. The bad…well, it’s not a good thing when I hear my computer savvy husband say things like, “It’s not looking good” and “corrupt”. Not sure what corrupt means in computer terms, but I know that it can’t be good. I tried not to get upset about all of the things that I might lose, but once he said these things I about lost it. I have all of my original pictures backed up, but not any proofed, finished groups (boy, have I learned my lesson). I kept thinking of the 18 sessions that have been sent their proofed galleries and how if they place an order then I’ll be going back and re-proofing everything. However, he tried thing after thing to recover anything from our old hard drive, and luckily, he was able to save July – August of this year. Exactly the ones that I’m still working with. What a relief! Anything before that is backed up I just have to put it all back on my computer. Lots of work to do. Whew!
So, if you’ve been waiting on orders, CD’s, emails, sneak peeks, etc…I’m trying to catch up as fast as I can. Thanks so much for your understanding and patience:)
Here’s a couple of pics of Drew and the infamous drum (which we still listen to daily!) Thanks again Lisa!

This is such a good-looking family. The kiddos were adorable and little Mr. B had the bluest eyes and stylin’ haircut going on. We had a bit of trouble holding his attention though when a helicopter decided to hang out overhead the whole time we were at the first location. Of course, what one-year-old won’t look up when a helicopter is above their head.
Hope you enjoy your sneak peek:)

the most easy-going newborn that I’ve worked with. We could move, wrap, unwrap, roll, turn over, manhandle, maneuver, etc….you get my drift. He was just the sweetest little guy just letting us do whatever we needed to to get the next shot. Such a sweetie! Enjoy your sneak peek guys. And thanks for being such good sports!

I love that his adorable big brother is going in for a kiss.

I had so much fun with these 2. She seemed a little more reserved when taking her maternity pictures, but once we got out the fan and her hair started blowing she seemed to turn into a super-hot-confident-mom-to-be. I love that. I think expectant moms are always so gorgeous and it’s great to have a good time modeling that pregnant belly. I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek. I can’t wait to meet your little one!

They told me about how they met on a boat and how they wanted their engagement pictures to reflect this. We decided to head down to an area where lots and lots of boats are kept. And we were hoping that someone would feel generous and let us take some pictures on or around their boat. After we spoke with a few drunk, obnoxious boaters we found some extremely generous people who not only said yes, but they said “sure” and walked away toward their car. Sweet! I felt like we needed to stay there all evening since someone had just handed us their boat for pictures. So a huge thank you to whomever/whoever(Ok, grammer police which one is it?) you are! We didn’t spend as long as usual mainly because it was hot. And I mean hot. So hot that they were agonizing over changing into jeans and boots. There’s nothing like the Texas heat in August:)
And I have to mention that this family has the most beautiful people in it. They’re related to this group from a few posts back.
Enjoy the sneak peek!

why cats meow or scratch at the door to come in only to look at you when you open it? Or take their precious time actually making it through the door? Just wondering.
These parents-to-be were so adorable. I could see how much they adored each other and I know they’re going to be awesome with their little girl. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.
So, if anyone knows the cat thing or has a wonder of their own just leave me a comment. Thanks!

I was returning a phone call. Paige had left a message about setting up a newborn shoot for after she had the baby on that coming Monday(this was the Friday before). She left her home and cell number. I called her home, no answer. So, I tried her cell phone. Her husband answered and told me to hold on…ok, cool. I figure he’s calling her to the phone. Only that’s not how it went. Instead he said, “Laura, she’ll call you back on Monday. She just had the baby. (I’m pretty sure she had just had him. If not, she was in the middle of labor). What? And you answered?? Are you crazy? So sorry guys to interrupt you during that:) What timing, huh? So, I finally got to meet little “P” this past week and he is quite the adorable baby. He loved to eat and cuddle.
Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

I can’t remember the exact story with the black sweater but I do know 1)no one specifically owns this sweater 2)a few different people have had it in their possession 3)when he graduates he intends to make sure the sweater stays in the drama department at school. Kind of a cool story and the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants immediately popped into my mind.
His main “thing” is theater so we went to the Theater District in downtown Houston. There are so many photo opportunities just waiting to be had but unfortunately a storm began when we were about halfway through.
I LOVE this wall. Not sure how he felt about it…but he had to be my guinea pig to try this thing out.

I walked in and there he was smiling at me. So adorable! He was the happiest, smiliest(sp?–you get my drift) little boy.
Ok, so not in this picture…(but I do love his Gilligan hat)

or even this one…

a little here…

no…

not yet…(although he was blowing bubbles at me)

or here either…

but look at this one! This is how I’ll always remember him:)

That was the answer his mom gave when I asked what Mason’s interests are. She said skateboarding and any sport with a ball(except tennis). And I’ll bet that he’d be really good at that, too. Total boy.
Here on the homefront I’m getting totally overwhelmed with kiddos that need to go back to school and work that is piling up by the second. Last summer lasted waaaayyyy toooooo long and I made sure that this summer we were very busy and entertained. In fact, I realized a couple of weeks into it that we were too busy. But the summer went wonderful until about last week. I’ve run out of patience, the kids are starting to really get on each other’s nerves and nit pick each other, and I need some uninterrupted work time. Oh, and my house…well, I’ll not even go there it’s gotten so unorganized and messy. So, if you’re waiting on me for pictures, sneak peeks, or anything else, I’m sorry! I hope to gain some sanity back in the next week so I can tackle everything that has been piling up.
