I met the women in this family several years ago when we did Ms. K’s senior pictures and I was happy to hear from them again. We had to deal with mosquitoes a little during this session but other than that it went great.

This family has added a little boy since I last saw them and he is a cutie!! His smile lights up his entire face and he was such a happy little one for the session. His twin sisters crack me up. One of them is super reflective and just watches and takes everything in while the other one is so animated and talkative with the cutest voice. During the session their dad spotted a visitor that seemed to follow us around. Luckily, that visitor was down in the water (see last picture). EEEWWWW!! This little guy was so good for our session. We had a time limit this day but it wasn’t a problem at all because he came in sleeping and just kept sleeping for the most part. His parents and sister are smitten with him and just with the short time I was around him I’m pretty smitten, too! Introducing Mr. J…. Such a nice family with 2 of the most adorable boys ever! Everything about the session went great except for the mosquitoes that made us their dinner. It was so bad that the dad left to go buy some insect repellant at a local gas station. I usually have some on hand but didn’t this time. It seems like every year there is at least one session where we get attacked by those annoying little blood suckers and this was definitely it. Thanks for being such troopers in the heat and with the mosquitoes. It was wonderful meeting you guys!! I am always impressed when couples that are expecting a baby have the patience and willpower to wait until the baby is born to find out if it’s a boy or girl! I never could! I could barely wait until the “big” ultrasound so that I could find out. So, these guys are getting close to finding out who has it right. Mom-to-be says “boy” and dad-to-be says “girl”. I’m also impressed that they were such troopers during this shoot because there were several factors working against us. They really wanted some pictures with animals in the zoo. We were going to meet earlier than I normally do so that we would have time in there. They were coming from a different direction and the freeway they were traveling came to a stop with terrible traffic! I went ahead and got the zoo tickets before they stopped selling them but when they got there the zoo had already put their gates down (they weren’t closed but they don’t sell tickets or let anyone in after 6:00). We were able to talk to someone and we got in. We headed to the elephants and where the elephants were standing the lighting wasn’t too good, there were poles, feeders, a group of people and a fence. We took a few shots and then we decided to go to the giraffes. When we finally got to the giraffes they were nowhere to be found because THEY HAD ALL GONE INSIDE! By this time the zoo was announcing that everyone needed to head to the exit. OMG, what next?!! Well, we started to walk to the vehicles to exchange some clothes and it started to rain. It was a light rain at first but then it started POURING! We got some umbrellas and moved to a covered area to take some more pictures. The rain didn’t last long but afterwards it was so muggy and hot. We joked that the next time they needed a maternity shoot we would fly to Colorado in the winter and take pictures in the snow! Thanks for hanging in there guys! You two were adorable together and I know you’ll be amazing parents:)
This family just added their second boy and he looks just like his big brother did when we did his newborn shots. While little brother ate we took some time to get some pictures of Mr. P. There are several pictures that I took during the session where he was hamming it up for the camera. The last one on this blog post is one of those. While his parents were tending to little brother he jumped right in front of me with the biggest smile ever! Thanks for your cooperation Mr. P:) Hope y’all enjoy the peek! Miss M was just over 2 weeks old at her newborn session and she did not want to miss a thing. So we got some open-eyed pictures first and then eventually she gave up the fight and was out for the rest of the pictures. They had relatives in town and I enjoyed meeting everyone and visiting with them. She is absolutely precious!! Hope you enjoy your little peek:) Last year we had hardly any rain. So little in fact that the drought brought a lake that we go to yearly so low that you could see an old cemetery. Yikes, you never know what lies beneath the water!! Well, this year (especially lately) we have had a ton of rain. I’ve had to reschedule so many sessions because of the weather. I was also sick and had to postpone this session. We waited a week and I was better but guess what? It was raining. Luckily, it wasn’t raining where we were at for this session although they had driven through hard rain to get there. Their new little guy has the biggest smile and a sister that is quite proud of him. |
