Engagement Pictures

Super easy-going couple. Amazing location. Gorgeous evening light. If only the mosquitoes hadn’t tried to carry us away it would have been totally perfect. They’ve known each other a long time and it showed and made for some great posing. He likes to give her a hard time…in his own loving way and she playfully gave it back to him. I know they’ll have a great future together. Thanks for letting me be the one to capture your engagement pics! I had a blast:)

Newborn girl and her family

I was pretty happy to see a newborn. It’s been awhile and I’m sure this means there are more on the way…because you know I have a theory that they come in waves. She was really sweet and sleepy and once you got her to sleep she was OUT. Gotta love that. It was great meeting you guys and I hope you enjoy your peek:)

Galveston Beach Pics

….with one of my favorite families. Lucky for me I’ve gotten to work with them several times a year and watch their girls grow and their personalities flourish. They’re beautiful and I love their serious faces as much as I do their smiles. Hoped you enjoyed your time at the beach:)

A super, super, super fun family

Can you tell that they’re fun??? And that they enjoy being goofy and playing around together. I love that. Mom says that the kids do argue with each other but all I saw was a good time together. And they brought their 13-year-old dog. He was pretty chilled out for his short time in the limelight. I’m sure it’s pretty entertaining to the casual passerby when there’s a dog at a photo shoot because I will meow like a cat, bark like a dog, squeak like a squirrel (Ok, I don’t know how to imitate a squirrel, but I give it a good try) and most of the time it works. It must have worked because I have lots of pics of him looking:) I truly had a blast with you guys. It didn’t feel like work at all:) Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I love that mom likes the urban style, too.

These guys have some gorgeous eyes!

Ummmm, you would think that boys are a little sillier, but Miss L started this…

So Adorable

I hadn’t seen this little guy since his newborn pictures. I took my first quick look and thought that he didn’t really look like his older sister like I thought he would. Well, it only took a couple of minutes to realize that he does look like her. And the more I was with him the more I saw it in his expressions and especially his eyes.

Isn’t he completely adorable!! Here’s his look-alike sister. Hope you enjoy the peek:)

Chicken Soup for My Soul comes from….

my job.

This session was scheduled several months in advance when their family would all be together. The day before the session I found out that my mom’s heart was only working at 25% and she would need an internal defibrillator put in the very next day. This was the day that I was supposed to do their Galveston beach session. I knew that this day would start really early and I’d probably be tired and a little sad but I really, really hated to reschedule.

I told Jocelyn what was going on and she was amazing. We could play it by ear. We didn’t have to do it. She totally understood. But the procedure for my mom went well and I told her I was game. And I’m so glad. We met up at the beach and had a great time. She and her entire family were so sweet and full of life and so much fun. I left there and on the drive home I kept thinking about how glad I was that I had gone. And how lucky I am to do what I love…as a job. And how awesome it is that I get to meet such wonderful people. And how when now, as I work on their pictures, a smile comes to my face as I remember the way that evening made me feel happy. I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek and I also want to thank you for a great end to a long day.

Runaway family member!

Gorgeous, gorgeous maternity

Such a beautiful family. If I had looked that good pregnant I think I would have done a couple of maternity shoots:) Hope you like these:)

My mom is still in the hospital. She went in for one problem and ended up having a heart attack and a small stroke while she was there. It has been a roller coaster from day-to-day to say the least. The good news is that she was moved from ICU to a regular ole room today and there is talk of her going home. THANK YOU so much for the continued good thoughts and prayers that you have sent my way. It means so much:) Thanks also to my clients for being so patient with your pictures. I have been spending a lot of time going down there (it’s almost an hour away) and shuffling the kids around so that I can go to see her.

I spent some time today catching up on sneak peeks and I’ll tackle some proofs tomorrow. I hate that you’ve had to wait longer than expected on proofs but I’m sending a little something extra your way to hopefully make up for it a little bit:)

Family

This was Cassidy’s mother’s day out teacher when she was four and then she was Drew’s teacher this past year at the same mother’s day out program. A little birdie told me that she would love to do pictures with her family (especially when her parents are visiting from England) so that’s what I offered as a thank-you gift for putting up with my 2 kiddos….hope it’s enough:):):)

I know the last picture is out of focus but I just had to zoom in and show what Mr. N is doing to his sister. I didn’t notice it at the time and saw it while looking at the pics….too funny!!

Katy, Tx family shoot

I love doing photo shoots where they live because they have some great spots just around the corner from their home (I’ve done some of their neighbor’s pics before). They were great to work with and we even got to add their 2 dogs into some of the poses. Sorry again for the lateness on the blog sneak peek…hope you enjoy:)

Family Shoot at Sam Houston Park

I had only been to this location once before and remembered that finding a parking spot might be an issue. There are one-way streets all around and if you get caught on one of them without finding a parking spot you have to go quite a ways to turn back around (don’t ask me how I know this:)) Anyways, we were lucky and found a parking spot the first time. It was a really pretty evening although pretty darn hot! The thing I really enjoy about a large family is seeing how they interact together. You know, there’s always some joking around, sarcasm and silliness…chasing kids and bribery. It’s exactly how it was when my own family did large group pictures last October.

Hope you guys enjoy your peek. Sorry that it took so long!
